Team Paris, consisting of 25 Grades 8 and 9 students from Lakeland Ridge School, in Sherwood Park, spent spring break in the extraordinary city of Paris, France.
Our schedule was full of amazing experiences involving the French language and culture. We visited museums, cathedrals, a war memorial and did “beaucoup de shopping”! One of our favourite experiences was the view of “The City of Lights” from atop the Eiffel Tower. The students said they would never forget the city’s twinkling lights.
Our visit to the Vimy Ridge Memorial was very moving, and exploring the First World War underground tunnels and trenches was an eye-opening experience.
We are extremely proud of Team Paris and how our students represented Lakeland Ridge and Canadians in France. As much as the students were ready to go home, they were reluctant to leave the amazing city of Paris. Our memories will stay with us forever.
